Robert Budens Becomes President of POPA
Robert Budens succeeds Larry Oresky, who has served as POPA President since the retirement of Ron Stern. Larry returns to his former roles of Vice President and Director of Grievances. For several years, Robert Budens has had an active role in POPA's legislative affairs, public relations, and negotiations. POPA is grateful for Robert's ability, experience, and willingness to serve. POPA President Ron Stern Retires
Longtime POPA President Ron Stern retired at the end of 2005, concluding 41 years of service to the USPTO and 38 years of service to POPA. Ron's leadership and tireless effort enabled POPA to gain many benefits for its members, among them signatory authority, bonuses, paid overtime, flexible work hours, and maternity/paternity leave. His unwavering love for the patent system and his tenacious defense of those who make it run will never be forgotten.
